Super Acquaintances

Fueled by the awesome Imaginext toy line, a few progressive school friends and his geek dad, the Bean has been slowly getting into superheroes.

Unfortunately, he doesn't always get the facts straight.

These are the answers to the following questions, according to the Bean:

Spider-Man's true identity: "Peter Partner"
Batman's sidekick: "Robber"
He's green, he's angry, he wears purple pants: "The Incredible Naked Man"
Star Wars' main bad guy: "Black Skeleton"
...also known as:  "Dark Vader"
The main robots from Star Wars: "Iron Man and R2D2"
One of Batman's main villains: "Freezer"

I've clearly got a lot of work ahead of me.

I can see all of them except the C3P0 - Iron Man thing.

Next time we can ever manage to get them together, Jordan would be happy to provide a tutorial. He is WAY into the justice league, how everyone got their powers, how (fill in the blank) is (fill in the blank)'s nemesis (yes, he uses that word), etc. (On a side note, he does still say "light savers" and "Luke Skylocker", so we are working on those! Ha ha!)

p.s. love the post title!

Awesome. :)

My 3yo calls the SW Big Bad "Dark Bader" and it cracks me up every time.

The 6yo got a "Batman: Brave and the Bold" DVD for his birthday, so both of my boys are becoming remarkably well-versed in the heroes and villains of Gotham.

And, yes, they LOVE their Imaginext Bat Cave and associated action figures and vehicles. Did you know you can order some of those Imaginext playsets from Amazon with their "frustration-free packaging"?!? Love that.

Awesome. Here's some of the references from my two-year old:

Spider-Man: "Pishew. Pishew" (sound of web shooters, accompanied by appropriate arm gesture.)
Captain America: Capa
Hawkeye: Hawk. (pause) Eye.

SciFi...The cheaply made Iron Man action figure we have does look a little...robotic. I guess.

Jody...Skylocker! Awesome.

Zen...Can your 6 year old school my 5 year old?

YEO...The Bean has a big future in comic books ahead of him.

Alan...I think they're going to use the name "Pshew-Pshew" for the new Spidey flick.

Those are better than the real answers.

Of course, the Bean's name for The Hulk indirectly brings up the age-old question: Why does Hulk burst out of all his clothes EXCEPT his pants?

And I would SO pay to read a comic or see a movie about a superhero named Black Skeleton.

On a side note, my Word Verification for this comment was "Rotskin." Sounds like what my 4-year-old would call a zombie...

James...I'll tell him you said so.

FilmFather...I'm just waiting for Hollywood to option my son's brain so they can make a "Black Skeleton" movie.
